2024 Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony

The Defence Teaming Centre’s Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony is our most prestigious event of the year and is continuously labelled as the best Awards night by members of Australia’s defence industry.   

The annual event offers members well-deserved recognition for their contribution to the defence sector through our three award categories – Innovation, Skilling and Teaming. Winning a DTC Award showcases a company’s commitment, their resilience and the dedication required to thrive in this dynamic and evolving sector.

The 2024 event is set to be even more spectacular than the last with Derrick McManus secured as the keynote speaker for the evening. Derrick is a former police officer from the elite SA Police Special Tasks And Rescue (STAR) Group who was shot 14 times in less than five seconds while on the job. He laid on the ground for three hours with life-threatening injuries before being rescued, and no one thought he was going to make it. Against all the odds Derrick returned to full duties with the STAR Group in two and a half years. His story is more than resilience, it is about our capacity to thrive physically and mentally, under any pressure.  

The DTC’s Defence Industry Dinner & Awards Ceremony is a memorable affair for all who attend and offers the opportunity network with over 650 people from Australia’s defence industry community and VIP guests from the Department of Defence and Government.

We have once again teamed up with the See Differently OPK9 team to help raise life changing funds for our veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Thanks to the support of everyone involved the OPK9 team have been able to provide over 50 veterans with PTSD with a highly trained assistance dogs since the program began nearly 10 years ago.  

This year’s ceremony will be held on Wednesday 4 December at the Adelaide Convention Centre. We look forward to celebrating a truly momentous year with you and your team there!

Award Nominations Open  

Nominations for the DTC Awards are open. Our awards are designed to be as easy as possible to submit a nomination. While our awards are only open to members of the Defence Teaming Centre if you know a member who you think needs to be recognised, you can submit a nomination on their behalf.

• Skilling; and
• Teaming.
